We visited Templeux-Le-Guerard Cemetery early on the morning of Saturday 12th April 2014.

The soldier we were searching for was Christopher Chambers.

George searched the cemetery register to find Christopher's name, this gave us the grave reference for him to search for.  It was a joint effort finding the grave.

The weather was beautiful and the cemetery was very well kept, in its very rural location.

We spent some time in the cemetery at the grave side talking about Christopher and the sacrifice he had made.  Christopher was the only ranked man that came from Marlesford.  He was a Company Sergent Major and has a fascinating history which can be viewed on this website.  We hope that the Marlesford cross made a connection between Christopher, his home village and his brothers in arms.
